I searched HoiAn for three days before selecting this particular shop. I have had bespoke suits ( tailor made suits ) since I was very young and knew what to look for. There are a few A. Dong Silks shops. The one I finally chose was at 62 Tran Hung Dao st. I was attended to by the Manageress, Tra, a charming and attentive person. I had taken with me a jacket that I wanted copied, knowing this fit me perfectly. I had also taken my own material (they do have an extensive range to choose from). I ordered a jacket, and a suit with two pairs of trousers and a waistcoat. The finished articles are beautiful and I will have no hesitation in recommending these tailors to all my friends . Before you go to A Dong let me be very clear, they are not cheap. Your choice is very simple...you want the cheapest or you want the best. At A. Dong Silk you will get the best that I could find. From Canada, we travelled to Vietnam and based on the recommendation of a fashion-industry friend, made a b-line for A-Dong in Hoi An. It was our first trip to Vietnam and we were amazed by the sheer number (200+)  tailor shops in Hoi An  - a hotbed of custom made clothing, shoes etc. We learned that most of these shops have a formal 'pay for referral' network amongst hotel concierges and others in the tourist industry - except A-Dong. They rely on their work and quality reputation and it is a good one. As an example, while we were there getting our measurements ( suits, shorts, dresses, overcoats, jackets, and more ) we noted a returning customer back in town from Australia after a 4 year absence. The quality of cloth and choice was very impressive and included high end English bespoke and Italian wools. The service was extraordinary, particularly with the lady who served me, Nhung. I was in Hoi An for 3 days this past March and wanted to have a women's pea coat custom made. I'm very particular and have an appreciation for top quality fabrics and craftsmanship.  A-Dong was by far the highest price quoted for my design-- 160 for 90% wool/10% synthetic (imported, as all the other tailors in the area only have access to 70% wool max). Other offers ranged from 42 to 80. A-Dong was more than double the nearest competitor and 4x the price my friend paid for her pea coat.  Despite the ridiculous price quote, I was blown away by their professionalism and the quality of the tailoring they had on display. They also came recommended by someone I had met on a Halong bay tour.  When I tried on my jacket during my first fitting at a-Dong, I was blown away. The detailing matched the reference photo exactly and the only alterations that needed to be made were the sleeves lengthened (since I like mine longer than is typical).
