Last week I arrived for a fitting on a Saturday night ... and I had my suits, with many fine-grained alterations (done on Sunday afternoon after the fitting), by Sunday night . My sales assistant, Thoa , was terrific-- though I generally knew what I wanted (more or less), she was extremely helpful with the details, and full of great suggestions. I was treated as if I were the only customer in the world (though it is quite a busy shop ). Most important, my suits suit me, and I am hard to fit, having large muscular thighs that befuddle most clothes manufacturers and that are certainly not common among Vietnamese men. Prior to my trip, I researched online for reputable and quality tailors in Hoi An for business suits, dresses and shirts.                            A Dong was at the top of my list given their strong reviews and I can now say that A Dong lived up to their reputation. I was welcomed into the store by the lovely Van . Van was excellent, she has a very good eye for detail and was extremely patient as we worked through fabric selection ( there are lots to choose from! ) I had 3 fittings in total including some minor styling alterations so that everything looked and fit perfectly. Upon picking up, everything was beautifully wrapped and packaged for the flight home. It is true that you will pay more here however, like with most things, you get what you pay for. Choosing a tailor shop in Hoi An is hard, as anyone who's come here knows. We toured four different shops, all of which had excellent TripAdvisor ratings , getting quotes from each of them, until we settled on A Dong and Mr. Xe's, the former for the quality and the latter for the affordability. The price differential was substantial; the highest quality suit at A Dong was 250 and came with only one pair of pants, compared to 140 at Mr. Xe's, which came with two pairs of pants, and shirts were 45 at A Dong compared with 20 at Mr. Xe's. After the whole process was complete, however, the reason for the higher prices is clear; the suit I got at A Dong is the best-looking suit I've ever owned, and they nailed the stylishness on the first go. It also fits absolutely perfectly. My partner also had shirts and a blazer made for her and she looks fantastic in them. So expect to pay western prices (for similar off the shelf items) but appreciate that the garments will be spectacular and custom made and you get a story out of it. Nhung served me and I was excellent in helping me pick out materials and making suggestions . I could not be happier with their customer service and my final items. This is one of the larger and more classy of the many tailors in Hoi An. There is plenty of seating for family members to wait while you are being measured etc. Big selection of fabric and lots of staff so no waiting around . Good levels of English spoken and easy to discuss what you want with staff. I had 3 shirts made and my daughter had two dresses and various other items as well. Attention to detail is good; lots of discussion of button types, button hole edging colour, collar stiffness etc. All done in 36 hours and nicely packed. If you will ever visit Hoi An in central Vietnam , the best you can do is visiting a tailor and ask them for a customized suit. When I have been in this town a few weeks ago I asked a lot of people which tailor I should choose to produce such a suit for myself as there really exist a looot of different ones. And thank God I asked the right people who recommended me a shop called " A DONG SILK ". That was the best decision I could make. They simply offer the biggest variety of materials as well as the best quality I have seen after comparing a few different tailors, it just takes one to two days until the suit is being finished and the staff is friendly and competent . My recommendation: Ask for Hong who is working at A Dong Silk . She really knows what she is doing, advices you in the best way and also has a good taste. I love the dress I had made here. A lovely girl named My Phuong helped me and really listened to what I wanted and gave me a lot of advice. She understood what I was looking for and when I went back the next day for the fitting they really listened to my remarks and made the proper adjustments. My dress was finished in just one day.
