My husband and I went to A Dong Silk as well as a couple of other tailors in Hoi An . We found the range and quality of materials to be excellent, particularly for mens' jackets, chinos and shirts. Dong , who guided us through the process and took all of my husband's measurements was outstanding. He had a clear idea of what he wanted, but with Dong's professional experience the end result was even better because she was able to advise him on what would work best for my shape and style. We bought a tweed jacket, two pairs of chinos and four white shirts. Each item was excellent and Dong spent a lot of time with us at fittings making sure every last detail was perfect. Thank you Dong for your patience and making it an enjoyable experience for us. This is probably one of the more expensive tailors but the quality and service is excellent. We came to A Dong Silk Tailors because we wanted to get some suits made for my partner. We have had tailored made suits before and so expectation is extremely high. A Dong Silk Tailors certainly did not disappoint and is number 1 for a reason. The girl who helped us was Khanh and she was friendly, knowledgable and approachable. She showed us the range of materials, gave great advice and was not pushy and did not try to upsell at all. The experience was an awesome one for us. We got great premium quality suits at an extremely reasonable price . The service and expertise and knowledge of the team at A Dong Silk tailors is extremely high . The attention to detail is far superior than many others. Truly excellent service. Highly recommended . 10/10 Was tailored for 2 suits, 10 pairs of trousers and 5 shirts. My fitter was Thoa whose attention to detail was superb. Their selection of high quality fabrics is unmatched in Hoi An . All modern styles of suit/dress are catered for. Also, if you want a specialist item they can design it for you with minimal difficulty, my impression was that they pride themselves on their ability to do this. The initial measurement process takes approximately 40 minutes, the second fitting approximately 30 minutes (dependent on how many pieces of clothing fitted), and the third approximately 30 minutes. This process can be completed in 3 visits over 24 hours, as we didn't have much time to spend in Hoi an. I chose A Dong Silk based on reputation/reviews and also based on the positive initial experience in store when compared with some other tailors in Hoi An . Rather than being chased around the store, being harassed into making purchases (as was often the experience elsewhere), we were given time to browse without pressure. Once I indicated I was interested in purchasing some clothing, the service I received from Khanh was attentive, friendly and professional. I had a suit and two pairs of trousers measured, made, fitted, and collected within 48 hours of my initial visit. My first visit was approximately 7pm, followed by a first fitting 24 hours later, a second fitting approximately 11am the following day and collection at 5pm that evening. I came here in October last year (I have waited to post this review so I could include photos after our wedding day). I had two photos of two different wedding dresses I liked and the seamstresses here were able to meld them together perfectly. I'd suggest to print these out or cut them from magazines before you head over to show them. Otherwise if you only have digital copies, make sure they're accessible to you as they will give you an email address to send them to so they have a reference point . I came in with my pictures and picked fabric and they took measurements on Tuesday night, had my first fitting on Thursday afternoon and final fitting and picked up the dress on Friday. I chose A Dong Silk because of their great reviews on TripAdvisor and I was so happy with the service that I made an account just so I could leave a review here. I had 2 suits made which are probably the best quality suits made that I've ever seen. The fabric used is the highest quality and the stitching and lining is fantastic. They fit perfectly and they are even better than I expected them to turn out. Customer service in general was excellent , and I had Van as my tailor who was extremely friendly and knew exactly what I wanted. The price is around 25% more than you will pay at most regular tailors, but the reason for this is the quality of the materials, the manufacturing and the service. Getting a suit here is pretty much the same price as the cheapest high street store in England; for me it makes sense to pay a bit more for better quality.
